  1. I'm using the stylus to touch objects on various pages but each page sounds like the very first one I began playing with. Why do all the pages result in the same words, sounds, and music?
    Be sure to touch the star appearing on the left hand side of the left page every time you turn the page. Touching the star activates the appropriate page.
  2. Is there a warranty with ActivePAD™?
    Yes, there is a 90-day warranty for ActivePAD™. Mail in the product registration card that came with your ActivePAD™ system.
  3. Why doesn't the "Treasury of Learning" book come with a cartridge?
    The activities for the "Treasury of Learning" book are programmed into the ActivePAD™ system. Play the activities of this book by simply locking the spine into the player, no cartridge necessary.
  4. How many books exist for the ActivePAD™ system? How do I know which ActivePAD™ series to purchase for my son or daughter?
    There are currently four series of books available. Each series was designed with a specific age range in mind. The books are all clearly labeled with the appropriate age for each series. Click here to learn more about our four, fun series, and the reading levels for which they were designed.
  5. Is there a color-coding system for ActivePAD™ books?
    ActivePAD™ books fall into one of four series. You can tell what series a specific book falls into by looking at the color of its spine. For instance, all books in the Early Learning Series will have a blue spine. The four series are color coded as follows:

  6. How do I remove and insert books into the ActivePAD™ unit?
    Changing books is simple. Book spines snap in and out of place easily.
  7. The stylus pen that comes with my ActivePAD™ learning system no longer works. Is it possible to get a replacement?
    Try cleaning the stylus first by following the steps below:

    1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw of the battery compartment.
    2. Remove the battery compartment cover.
    3. Unplug the stylus pen from the base.
    4. Wipe both the plug and the jack with a cotton swab damp with alcohol.
    5. Replace plug into jack once alcohol has evaporated.
    6. Replace battery compartment cover.

    Caution: Never wet the stylus more than absolutely necessary and always unplug the pen before dampening.

  8. Will the product still operate with a severed stylus?
    No, the cord of the stylus is electronically connected to the ActivePAD™ unit, and must be intact in order for the system to function.
  9. Can the stylus pen from ActivePAD™ be used with other products?
    No, the stylus pen is designed specifically for ActivePAD™.
  10. Are books and cartridges from similar products compatible with the ActivePAD™ system? Will ActivePAD™ books and cartridges work in similar products?
    ActivePAD operates exclusively with ActivePAD™ books and cartridges. These books and cartridges will not work in similar products.
  11. My ActivePAD™ learning system stopped working. What could the problem be?
    Check the following possible reasons and solutions:

    • Check to make sure the batteries are fresh, and inserted correctly.
    • See that the stylus is connected, and in working condition by following the steps below:
      1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw of the battery compartment.
      2. Remove the battery compartment cover.
      3. Make sure the plug is securely fastened to the white base.
  12. I misplaced a cartridge or ActivePAD™ book. Can I get new ones?
    Excluding the "Treasury of Learning" book, replacement cartridges and books for ActivePAD™ are available for purchase from our Consumer Support Center. Each is $7.99, shipping and handling included.
  13. Are there any ActivePAD™ accessories available?
    The following items can be obtained through ActivePAD's Consumer Support Center:

    • Replacement books and cartridges
    • A/C adapters
    • Car A/C adapters
    • Headphones
    • Replacement stylus pens
  14. What if I forget to turn off my ActivePAD™?
    A brief period of inactivity will prompt ActivePAD™ to remind you that it is on. After approximately one minute, the unit will automatically turn off in order to conserve battery power.

    After so seconds of inactivity, the ActivePAD™ will question the user of their whereabouts. After another 20 seconds of inactivity, it will prompt the user to initiate activity. Finally, following an additional 25 seconds of inactivity, the ActivePAD™ encourages future use and then shuts off automatically.
